Petrokem 3dot 2K Underkote is a two component high quality coating specially developed for vehicle under body protection. Recommended for inner sides of doors, mudguards, chassis, floor, under bonnet, boot lid and areas subjected to heavy corrosion. Can also be used on any metal surface, wood or over most other similar surfaces as a protective coating. Forms a tough, long lasting protective coating against corrosion, stone chipt, mud, salty sea spray and other corrosive elements. Recommended for coastal areas. When applied under the chassis of vehicles it reduces the vibrations and thereby reduces unnecessary noises. The paint coating is black in color and can not be over-coated with any other color other than black color.
- Coverage – Approximately 2 -4 sqm (20 – sqft) per litre of mixed product per coat depending on the application thickness.
Application
- Surfaces to be treated should be sound, clean, dry and free from all foreign matter. Roughen metal or smooth, glossy surfaces. Do not touch surfaces after cleaning. Cover the exhaust system with paper and grease nipples with tape.lighten all body nuts and bolts.
- Mix thoroughly equal volumes of 3Dot® 2K Underkote base and activator. Five minutes of thorough mixing is recommended. Use the mixture within 45 minutes.
- Apply the mixture at 025 – 05 mm thick layer by using a stiff brush, spatula, putty knife or suitable equipment Do not apply on exhaust system, sump, gear box cables, grease nipples or on any mechanical part Allow to dry for at least 8 hours before using the vehicle.
- Coating will dry completely in 72 hours. Drying time will be further extended if -a very thick coating is applied. Use 3Dot® 2K PU Thinner to dilute when sprayed with a underkote spray-gun
- A second coat could be applied if desired.
